A commissioned assignment of Museum Bruges. Lace in past and present through the lens of Karin Borghouts Snapshot is a series of photography exhibitions around Bruges intangible cultural heritage. In Snapshot 9 photographer Karin Borghouts unites various aspects of the rich tradition of lace. A refined craft into a tourism product, from handicrafts to computer-controlled production, from decoration to an art form. The boundary between real or not real, handmade or industrial, art and kitsch is sometimes difficult to draw clear.
