Karin Borghouts is a professional Belgian artist photographer. She photographs places, preferably architectural environments and interiors. Her work occupies a position between photography and visual art, and is rich in references to painting. Her highly ingenious photos can be found, for example, in the collections of the photography museums in Antwerp and Charleroi Belgium, MAS and the University in Antwerp, Proximus Art Collection Brussels. Her work has been exhibited in more of 100 exhibitions in Belgium and abroad. Karin Borghouts is working on her own projects (art and documentary photography). She likes to work in site-specific projects and has a large experience in printing, publishing and exhibiting. She also works on commissioned assignments by art, cultural and heritage organizations, museums, publishers, architects and city councils. Karin Borghouts studied painting, sculpture and photography and worked also as a graphic designer. Starting with a Linhof large format camera, she is photographing now with the newest digital equipment. Karin works on a temporary base with some galleries like De Mijlpaal and Ronny Van de Velde.
Most of the photographs are available as high quality archival pigment prints in a limited edition.
Some existing exhibitions can be hired by museums and cultural institutes.
Karin Borghouts lives in Kalmthout close to Antwerp in Belgium and is married with Dirk Veulemans, composer electroacoustic music. Contact
