Vincent was here in Nuenen

On 16 May, Queen Máxima will officially open the brand new Van Gogh Village Museum in Nuenen. Karin Borghouts' photographic exhibition Vincent was herewill be the first temporary exhibition. The museum, located opposite Vincent's father's vicarage, has much more to offer and is also an ideal starting point for a Van Gogh cycle or walking tour. It was in Nuenen that Vincent van Gogh painted his masterpiece, The Potato Eaters. There are still many reminders of his stay.

Karin Borghouts followed Vincent van Gogh from Zundert to Auvers-sur-Oise, reconstructing and photographing many of his still lifes. She was inspired by the work of Van Gogh and his teachers, 19th century contemporaries and old masters. The photo book Vincent Was Here is published by Gallery Ronny Van de Velde.
